Friendship Bridge is excited to announce our new partnership with Tulong LLC (www.tulongllc.com), a company dedicated to the manufacture of environmentally and socially sustainable apparel. Guided by the values of social responsibility, transparency & accountability and sustainable practices, Tulong LLC produces high quality, sustainable apparel that utilizes best business practices in support of sustainable capitalism – the triple bottom line (social justice, economic prosperity, and environmental quality). A portion of the proceeds from its “Repair the World” clothing brand (which uses recycled fibers as material) will be donated to support nonprofit organizations that promote sustainable development. Believing in creating opportunities for those in need are the key to social change, Tulong LLC identified Friendship Bridge’s Microcredit Plus program as an ideal nonprofit partner.

To launch our partnership, Tulong LLC has contributed an initial donation to sponsor a new Friendship Bridge Trust Bank, “Estrellas de Panca,” in Sololá, Guatemala. The newly founded group is comprised of seven women who will use their loans to support their businesses, which include selling vegetables, running a small grocery store and weaving. Through the donation of Tulong LLC, these seven women are provided with the opportunity to create better lives for themselves and their families. In addition to this initial donation, Tulong LLC has pledged a percentage of the proceeds from its sales to the continued support of Friendship Bridge.
